I love to get the most out of my stamps and today I want to show you how to get two great looks from the same stamp set. The set I’m using is Wood Words and I think you’ll agree that by simply changing the colours, we get two completely different looks.
The first card uses the set in the more ‘conventional’ way. I’ve stamped the circle image onto a piece of Very Vanilla in Early Espresso and stamped off to get the different variations in shade. The greeting is from one of my favourite sets Watercolour Words and is stamped in Tranquil Tide. Then, I’ve added some of our Tranquil Tide ribbon and adhered to a Tranquil Tide card base.
- Card Base 14.5cm x 21cm
- Very Vanilla 14cm x 10.5cm
For the second card, I’ve used the same circle image but made it much more colourful and think it would make a great children’s birthday card.
To create the background, I’ve stamped the circle in Real Red, Wild Wasabi and Tempting Turquoise onto a panel of Whisper White. I’ve then layered two strips of Daffodil Delight at either end and added a length of our Daffodil Delight double sided ribbon. The entire panel is then adhered to a Tempting Turquoise card base.
The greetings are from the Confetti Celebration stamp set which has lots of fun birthday images. The ‘Hooray’ is stamped in Daffodil Delight and then die cut in a circle and mounted to a circle of Tempting Turquoise. The ‘It’s your Day’ is stamped on a scrap in Real red and the tails trimmed using the Triple Banner Punch. Both are popped up using Dimensionals.
- Card Base Tempting Turquoise 14.5cm x 21cm
- Whisper White Panel 13cm x 10.5cm
- Daffodil Delight Panel 14cm x 10.5cm
- Scraps of Whisper White & Tempting Turquoise
I think you’ll agree that the two cards turned out very differently, which I love as it shows just how versatile the images are.
