Just a quick post for you today to share a wedding card I made this week for a colleague at work who is getting married. I’ve entered it into two challenges too. First of all is the Daring Cardmakers challenge which is to use at least three elements from the picture below:
Secondly, is the CASual Fridays challenge #CFC192 which was to use hearts on the card.
I like to take part in challenges as it’s a great way to get ideas and inspiration. I decided to use the heart and text elements but stretch the ‘pinks’ element a little by using purple (that’s just a really dark pink, isn’t it??) because that’s the colour theme of the wedding.
I simply die cut a heart shape into some Whisper White cardstock and layered some of our patterned acetate sheets behind. I love these sheets because they’re double sided – silver on one side and gold on the other.
I die cut the ‘love’ sentiment from silver foil using the Sunshine Wishes thinlits and then heat embossed the other words in silver.
Then, I layered the whole panel onto the card base using Dimensionals so you get a lovely ‘window’ effect which unfortunately he photo doesn’t really show. I did think about making it into a shaker card, but wanted to showcase the lovely spotted foil so kept it simple instead.
A few rhinestones added a nice finishing touch.
- Fresh Fig Card Base 14.5cm x 21cm
- Whisper White 14cm x 10cm
- Foiled Acetate 10cm x 10cm
- Silver Foil scrap
I love how quickly and easily this card came together and she was thrilled with it, which is the reason we send cards, right?
