What a fun night we had last night! My internet connection held up (yaay!!) and we managed a lovely fun hour of stamping, craftiness and chat. I love the interaction that we enjoy on Facebook Live – it’s so much more fun for me than just recording a video talking to myself. Thank you ladies for your lovely company.
If you missed the Live broadcast you can watch the replay here:
Apart from the cards, the big news was that Monday was my 5 year anniversary as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator! I’ve enjoyed every minute and wanted to treat you all, so I have a special offer for the month of February – I’m giving 5% off all orders during February!!! You need to email me directly with your order so I can process it with the discount, rather than doing it via my Online Shop. Plus, you still get your Saleabration rewards – hooray!!
We also talked about what techniques or projects you’d like me to show and I got requests for Brusho – which is on the list for a future Live and some card folds. I did a video last year showing some simple folds, which you can watch here, but I will do some more in upcoming Lives. I love to hear your suggestions and requests so if you have anything you’d like to see, just leave me a comment below and I’ll see what I can do.
Anyway, on to the cards. here are the 4 we made. Which one is your favourite? On the night it was a tie between the Butterfly and the Peacock. You can find all of the dimensions and supplies for each card below.
Card 1 – Beautiful Day Butterfly
For this first card, I used the gorgeous Painted with Love Designer Series Paper and the Beautiful Day stamp set to create the butterfly. I’m really pleased with how it turned out – very simple but really striking. The large images in the Beautiful Day stamp set are great for creating a wow! card with not much work (although I did cut out the butterfly, which is good for me because I hate fussy cutting). Using a double layer of dimensionals under the wings really gives this butterfly added impact and movement.
If you haven’t tried it before, heat embossing is literally magic!! I love the extra impact it gives to projects and never tire of that wonderful moment when the powder melts and turns glossy!!
- Flirty Flamingo Card Base: 14.5cm x 21cm
- Very Vanilla 14cm x 10cm
- Painted with Love DSP approx. 10cm x 10cm
Card 2 – Calendar Card
Well, this card isn’t really a card – it’s a desktop calendar! This was the gift I sent to customers who ordered from me during January and used the Host Code. I made lots because I had so much fun trying different colours so I have a few spares. If you’d like me to send you one, send me an email and I’ll post one to you. My samples were using Bermuda Bay and Pool Party but the one I made used Berry Burst which was by far the most popular colour – which is your favourite?
I used the Apron of Love stamp set and dies to make the apron on this one (which looks very like the apron I wear for classes and events) and I can see lots of possibilities for all sorts of cards and designs. I just love the teeny scissors – so cute!!! I also used the Crafting Forever stamp set which I think is a real must for any crafter because the images and sentiments are perfect for us. I’ve made lots of cards with this set before.
- Whisper White Card Base: 14.5cm x 21cm plus scrap
- Berry Burst 14cm x 10cm
- Basic Black 8cm x 5.5cm plus scrap
Card 3 – Birthday Wit
Another bit of fussy cutting from me on this one! The sentiments in this set are great and I especially love this one. I cut up my stamp to make it easier to get the different colours and the card actually came together pretty quickly. The example I had was with a Bermuda Bay background but the one I made used Berry Burst, which again was the more popular choice – I guess you ladies like your pinks!! I also used my Stampin’ Blends to colour my rhinestones – it’s great now I can customise my rhinestones (and pearls) to suit my project!!
- Whisper White Card Base: 14.5cm x 21cm
- Bermuda Bay / Berry Burst 14cm x 10cm
- Whisper White 13.5cm x 9.5cm
Card 4 – Beautiful Peacock
This final card was the simplest of them all (just stamping!!) but gave me a few problems because I wasn’t being gentle enough. Anyway, I kept on going and created my favourite card of the evening (even if I did have to ’embellish’ an inky fingerprint!!) . I love these colours together (and Berry Burst made yet another appearance) and the simplicity of it. The stamp set I used is one of our Free Saleabration sets that you can earn with an order of £45. I think the images in this one lend themselves to so much more than peacocks so watch out for more projects with it.
- Lemon Lime Twist Card Base: 14.5cm x 21cm
- Island Indigo 14cm x 10cm
- Whisper White 13.5cm x 9.5cm
I hope you enjoyed the projects. Make sure to leave me a comment letting me know which was your favourite. I broadcast live every Monday night at 8pm GMT from my Facebook Page. Make sure to like and follow me so you get notified when I go Live.
Also, remember to email me your orders during February so I can give you your 5% discount.
