Facebook Live 22nd January – Simple Cards, Handy Tips and a Prize Draw

By | 23rd January 2018

After missing last week’s session because I fell asleep on the sofa (!!) we were back to normal this week. Last Saturday was the Crafty Open House to launch the new Spring Summer catalogue, which was great fun. So I thought I’d show the Make & Take projects for the day. I also talked about the Prize draw and Scavenger Hunts for chances to win lots of great prizes.

First of all, the Prize Draw! There are three prizes up for grabs:

1st Prize  – Oh Happy Day Complete Cardmaking  Kit

2nd Prize – Pun Intended Stamp Set

3rd Prize – Mixed Medallions Card Kit

There are a few ways to enter:

Place an order                                 5 entries

Sign up as a Demonstrator            10 entries

Take part in the Online Scavenger Hunt  1 entry for every correct answer

Then, there’s the Scavenger Hunt!!

We did one on Saturday and it was fiendishly difficult. (I’ll announce the answers and winners on 26th January) but the online one is much easier. It’s taking place on my Facebook Page and there are seven questions to answer. All you have to do is put your answer in the comments below each question. Every correct answer wins you an entry into the Prize Draw. But as well as that, the person with the most correct answers also wins a prize – which is the Tutti Frutti Card Kit (from the Saleabration catalogue). Note: Not the Tutti Frutti Sequins as I mentioned in the video!

Anyway, on to the cards. All of the dimensions and supplies for each one are listed below.

If you missed the broadcast, you can watch it again here:

Card 1 – Party Pandas

I just love these cute Pandas, which are just one of the free Saleabration items available with every £45 you spend. Plus, this card is a great way to use up those scraps of paper we all have. I’ve used another Saleabration item, which is the Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series paper. This fun design would make a perfect children’s card.

  • Bermuda Bay 14cm x 10cm

  • Bubbles & Fizz DSP 14.5cm x 2.5cm (2 pieces)
  • Whisper White 1cm x 4.5cm
  • Bermuda Bay  1.5cm x 5cm

Card 2 – Birthday Wit

This second card uses a brilliant stamp set which has some great, quirky greetings. Make sure to watch the video for some tips on trimming your stamps to make them stamp better and give you more options for your sentiments! This a great card to put together quickly and would work as a masculine card or even one of those tricky ‘Young Person’ cards when they’re too big for a children’s one.

Stampin Up Birthday Wit

  • Marina Mist Card Base  14.5cm x 10.5cm
  • Calypso Coral 14cm x 10cm
  • Whisper White 13.5cm x 9.5cm  plus scrap

Card 3 – Heartfelt Blooms

This stamp set is another of our free Saleabration gifts. It’s a new, innovative type of stamp that gives a photographic style image without having to do multiple stamping. I love images like this that can carry an entire card by themselves. With a different sentiment, this would also be a quick and easy Sympathy card. Plus, I show you how to re-ink your ink pads while making this one!

  • Early Espresso  14cm x 10cm

Card 4 – Perennial Birthday

This final card was the favourite of the evening! I think the images in this stamp set gives you lots of options and the large sentiment is very versatile. It looks equally great as an edgy sentiment or when paired with the pretty florals on this card. The colour scheme too is so bright and fresh! Plus, I show you a neat trick with your blender pens to get the ‘watercolour’ effect.
