Brushos, Blends and More – Facebook Live 19th February

Monday’s Facebook Live was great fun, if a little nerve wracking for me! I’d been laid low over the weekend and hadn’t had time to prepare my projects in advance so was ‘winging it’!! I had some ideas in my head about what I wanted and thankfully they turned out pretty much as I’d imagined – it’s not always like that, though is it??? We started by playing about with Brusho powders which is always an adventure, and then we did some simple colouring with the Stampin’ Blends. Finally, I showed a fun idea for including photographs on our cards.

Quick & Easy Card Tutorial

If you missed the live broadcast, you can watch is again here:

Below you’ll find full details of all of the dimensions and supplies for each card. To order your supplies, simply click on the picture, which will take you directly to my 24/7 Online Shop. Remember to use this month’s Host Code when you order so I can send you a free Thank You gift.

Brusho Top Tips

I was recently asked if I could show how to use our new Brusho Powders, so I made two projects using them. They’re a fabulous and fun medium to use, but can be unpredictable. That’s one of the great things about them!

When using Brushos, I have  a few quick tips for you:

  • Less is definitely more – the pigment is very intense and the powders are very fine so it’s easy to put on more than you need. Just add a little at first – you can always add more if you need to.
  • Use plenty of water – the powders react to water so the more you add, the more they react
  • Use Watercolour Cardstock – because you need to use lots of water, regular cardstock just won’t be able to handle it. You really need to use our proper heavyweight watercolour cardstock
  • Experiment – Brushos are an unpredictable medium, which is exciting. But it does mean that you will need to play with them and experiment before you start to see the results you’re after. Be patient and experiment lots

Card 1 – Epic Celebrations using Brusho

For this first card, I sprinkled the powder onto dry cardstock and then spritzed it. This creates a really great effect, as you can see below. I thought the Epic Celebrations stamp set (one of our Saleabration Freebies!) perfectly complemented the sort of grungy look created by the Brusho powder. A bit of yellow really made it pop and some washi tape finished it off perfectly.

Dimensions:

  • Night of Navy Card Base 29cm x 10.5cm plus scrap approx. 10cm x 10cm
  • Crushed Curry 10cm x 14cm
  • Watercolour Card 9.5cm x 13.5cm plus scrap approx. 10cm x 10cm

Supplies

Card 2 – Rose Wonder using Brushos

For this second card, I showed how to get a little bit more control by  heat embossing first and applying water to the card before adding the powder. The large image from the Rose Wonder stamp set is perfect for this and I love the way the two colours (Red & Yellow) mixed and blended. The image did all of the work so it didn’t need anything else except a sentiment to finish it off. Apart from this fabulous image, the Rose Wonder stamp set also has a great selection of sentiments in this gorgeous font.

Card 3 – Birthday Wishes using Stampin’ Blends

Staying with the colouring theme, for our next card I used the Stampin’ Blends to colour the large sentiment in the Birthday Wishes stamp set. I used Pool Party and then added a little extra definition with some light Bermuda Bay. Apart from a light and dark version of each shade of marker, lots of the colours complement each other to give you even more shading options. In this instance Pool Party and Bermuda Bay. But you also have Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. Plus, Pink Pirouette and Rich Razzleberry. But Blends aren’t just for colouring images! Here I’ve coloured our ribbon using Bermuda Bay to tie the whole thing together. Plus, you can colour your gems, pearls and lots of other embellishments!! I love the simplicity of this card that really shows off the sentiment and the colours.

  • Whisper White approx. 10cm x 12cm

Card 4 – Polaroid Picture Frame using Picture Perfect Party

Our last card was inspired by one I saw another demonstrator make (unfortunately I can’t find the original image to give proper credit!). I used our Picture Perfect Party paper pack which has some great photographic images and created this frame to look like a polaroid photo. You could easily add your own photograph for a really personal card! The finishing touch was one of our cute binder clips – I love these!

Facebook Live 12th February – Hearts aren’t just for Valentine’s Day

Love was definitely in the air for our Facebook Live session on 12th February! I went with a ‘Heart’ theme and made 4 cute cards all with hearts that would work just as well for Valentine’s Day or other occasions. I used the Heart Happiness stamp set on all of them and just added appropriate sentiments from some of my other sets. If you missed the broadcast you can watch it back here:

But, the cards! Well, here they are. I think you’ll agree that we were able to create some quite different looks and cards suitable for different occasions from just this one set. Hearts are always good, right? The sentiments were from two of my favourite sets Petal Palette and Happy Birthday Gorgeous. You can find the dimensions and supplies for each card below – enjoy!

Stampin Up Hearts Happiness Live Video Tutorial

Card 1 – Indigo & Lime Hearts

For this first card I used a colour I love but don’t use often enough (Island Indigo) and paired it with one of my favourite colours (Lemon Lime Twist) to create a contemporary masculine card. The combination was inspired by the Peacock card I made last during last week’s Facebook Live, which you can see here  The sentiment is from one of my favourite stamp sets – Happy Birthday Gorgeous. I think this card could look great in all sorts of colour combinations.

Dimensions:

  • Whisper White Card Base 14.5cm x 21cm
  • Island Indigo 14cm x 9cm
  • Whisper White 13.5cm x 8.5cm
  • Whisper White 2cm x 8cm plus scrap approx 10cm x 10cm

Supplies:

Card 2 – Heat Embossed Heart

For our next card, we had fun with the ‘magic’ of heat embossing! I still love that moment when the powder begins to melt and turn glossy – it really is like magic! And the viewers agreed 🙂 The sample card I made in pink and although I hadn’t intended it to, it looked like a Baby card to me, so I decided to do another in blue. I also think this would make a great Wedding or Engagement card if done with black. The sentiment is from another of my favourite stamp sets – Petal Palette. I also showed a great little ‘cheat’ to get the bows without having to do any fiddly bow tying!

Dimensions:

  • Soft Sky / Blushing Bride Card Base  14.5cm x 21cm
  • Whisper White 14cm x 10cm
  • Crumb Cake 13.5cm x 9.5cm

Supplies:

Card 3 – Black & Red Hearts

Our third card uses the more traditional red for Valentine’s day. By pairing it with black I think you get a very stylish, masculine card. The black shimmer ribbon adds a great touch of luxury ( I love this ribbon as I think it adds a touch of elegance to any project). Again, you could easily swap the sentiment out for something else if you wanted.

  • Real Red Card Base  14.5cm x 21cm
  • Basic Black: 14cm x 10cm
  • Whisper White 13.5cm x 9.5cm plus scrap approx 10cm x 10cm

Supplies:

Card 4 – Floral Heart Birthday

Our final card wasn’t a Valentine’s card at all and I let you into a little secret! My original sample used White, but when I was preparing for the class I found I didn’t have enough so swapped it for Vanilla. I actually preferred the Vanilla so it was one of those happy accidents that sometimes happens in crafting! I used my Stampin’ Blends to colour the flowers but you could use your markers, watercolour pencils, or any other colouring medium. I love that we were able to create another completely different look using the same stamp sets.

Dimensions:

  • Very Vanilla Card Base 14.5cm x 21cm
  • Old Olive 14cm x 10cm
  • Very Vanilla 13.5cm x 9.5cm plus scrap approx. 10cm x 10cm

Supplies:

So there we have it, lots of inspiration from just one stamp set – love it!! I hope this has inspired you and that you have a wonderful valentine’s day, however you choose to spend it.

I’ve also entered these cards into the following challenges:

2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop February

Welcome back to our second Kre8tors Blog Hop. I’m so excited to be part of this fun collaboration with fellow demonstrators. The creativity and skill of these ladies is just awesome. If you missed it, you can check out last month’s hop here

Kre8tors Blog Hop

This month’s theme is Saleabration, as in the freebies available between now and the end of March for every £45 you spend! There will be some new additions available from later this week (16th February) so watch out for those.  I can’t wait to show you my project but I have to tell you I had a really hard time choosing which product to use (they’re all so gorgeous!!).

In the end, I chose the Beautiful Peacock stamp set. I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m a fan of peacocks, but I do love the images on this one and featured the card below in last week’s Facebook Live. What a fabulously elegant peacock! To find out how I made it, you can watch the video here.

Stampin Up Beautiful Peacock Simple Card

But I think this set has so much more to offer than a peacock! Which is where today’s card comes from – not a peacock in sight and a completely different look. I love the versatility of this set in that it allows you to get such different looks. I also used a colour I don’t use very much – Always Artichoke – and have resolved to give this colour some more love as it definitely deserves it!!

Stampin Up Beautiful Peacock and Brusho

I decided to use the emboss resist technique, so started by heat embossing the flourishes and the small flowers onto a piece of our watercolour paper (13.5cm x 9.5cm) using white embossing powder.

Then, by pressing on the lid of my ink pad while it was closed, I got a pool of ink that I used to do a watercolour wash over the heat embossing using my aqua painter. I added quite a bit of water as I wanted a very soft effect but you could make it as dark as you like.  When the ink was dry (a couple of minutes) I gently wiped any excess ink from the embossed areas.

Then I stamped the sentiment in Always Artichoke.

I used my Bronze Stampin’ Blend marker to colour the pearls (what a great extra use of our fabulous Blends – you can do this on your rhinestones too!!)

I adhered my panel to a layer of Always Artichoke (14cm x 10cm) using double sided tape. I usually use liquid glue but the heat embossing and watercolouring will warp your paper slightly so I find the tape helps to hold it in place flat on my card. Finally, the whole think was adhered to a Very Vanilla card base (14.5cm x 21cm).

Below is a list of all of the supplies I used, which you can purchase in my Online Shop and remember to claim your Saleabration reward! Plus, use this month’s Host Code to claim an extra Thank You gift from me.

Quick & Simple Wedding Card

Just a quick post for you today to share a wedding card I made this week for a colleague at work who is getting married. I’ve entered it into two challenges too. First of all is  the Daring Cardmakers challenge which is to use at least three elements from the picture below:

Secondly, is the CASual Fridays challenge  #CFC192 which was to use hearts on the card.

I like to take part in challenges as it’s a great way to get ideas and inspiration. I decided to use the heart and text elements but stretch the ‘pinks’ element a little by using purple (that’s just a really dark pink, isn’t it??) because that’s the colour theme of the wedding.

Stampin Up Special Celebrations

I simply die cut a heart shape into some Whisper White cardstock and layered some of our patterned acetate sheets behind. I love these sheets because they’re double sided – silver on one side and gold on the other.

I die cut the ‘love’ sentiment from silver foil using the Sunshine Wishes thinlits and then  heat embossed the other words in silver.

Then, I layered the whole panel onto the card base using Dimensionals so you get a lovely ‘window’ effect which unfortunately he photo doesn’t really show. I did think about making it into a shaker card, but wanted to showcase the lovely spotted foil so kept it simple instead.

A few rhinestones added a nice finishing touch.

Dimensions:

  • Fresh Fig Card Base 14.5cm x 21cm
  • Whisper White 14cm x 10cm
  • Foiled Acetate 10cm x 10cm
  • Silver Foil scrap

Supplies:

I love how quickly and easily this card came together and she was thrilled with it, which is the reason we send cards, right?

You can order any of the supplies from my Online Shop.

Remember to use this month’s Host Code and I’ll send you a FREE thank you gift.

Facebook Live 5th February

What a fun night we had last night! My internet connection held up (yaay!!) and we managed a lovely fun hour of stamping, craftiness and chat. I love the interaction that we enjoy on Facebook Live – it’s so much more fun for me than just recording a video talking to myself. Thank you ladies for your lovely company.

If you missed the Live broadcast you can watch the replay here:

Apart from the cards, the big news was that Monday was my 5 year anniversary as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator! I’ve enjoyed every minute and wanted to treat you all, so I have a special offer for the month of February – I’m giving  5% off all orders during February!!! You need to email me directly with your order so I can process it with the discount, rather than doing it via my Online Shop. Plus, you still get your Saleabration rewards – hooray!!

We also talked about what techniques or projects you’d like me to show and I got requests for Brusho – which is on the list for a future Live and some card folds. I did a video last year showing some simple folds, which you can watch here,  but I will do some more in upcoming Lives. I love to hear your suggestions and requests so if you have anything you’d like to see, just leave me a comment below and I’ll see what I can do.

Anyway, on to the cards. here are the 4 we made. Which one is your favourite? On the night it was a tie between the Butterfly and the Peacock. You can find all of the dimensions and supplies for each card below.

Stampingjack Facebook Live 5th February Online Cardmaking Tutorial

Card 1 – Beautiful Day Butterfly

For this first card, I used the gorgeous Painted with Love Designer Series Paper and the Beautiful Day stamp set to create the butterfly. I’m really pleased with how it turned out – very simple but really striking. The large images in the Beautiful Day stamp set are great for creating a wow! card with not much work (although I did cut out the butterfly, which is good for me because I hate fussy cutting). Using a double layer of dimensionals under the wings really gives this butterfly added impact and movement.

If you haven’t tried it before, heat embossing is literally magic!! I love the extra impact it gives to projects and never tire of that wonderful moment when the powder melts and turns glossy!!

Dimensions:

  • Flirty Flamingo Card Base: 14.5cm x 21cm
  • Very Vanilla 14cm x 10cm
  • Painted with Love DSP approx. 10cm x 10cm

Card 2 – Calendar Card

Stampin Up Apron of Love Desk Calendar

Well, this card isn’t really a card – it’s a desktop calendar! This was the gift I sent to customers who ordered from me during January and used the Host Code. I made lots because I had so much fun trying different colours so I have a few spares. If you’d like me to send you one, send me an email and I’ll post one to you.  My samples were using Bermuda Bay and Pool Party but the one I made used Berry Burst which was by far the most popular colour – which is your favourite?

I used the Apron of Love stamp set and dies to make the apron on this one (which looks very like the apron I wear for classes and events) and I can see lots of possibilities for all sorts of cards and designs. I just love the teeny scissors – so cute!!! I also used the Crafting Forever stamp set which I think is a real must for any crafter because the images and sentiments are perfect for us. I’ve made lots of cards with this set before.

Dimensions:

  • Whisper White Card Base: 14.5cm x 21cm plus scrap
  • Berry Burst 14cm x 10cm
  • Basic Black 8cm x 5.5cm plus scrap

Supplies:

Card 3 – Birthday Wit

Another bit of fussy cutting from me on this one! The sentiments in this set are great and I especially love this one. I cut up my stamp to make it easier to get the different colours and the card actually came together pretty quickly. The example I had was with a Bermuda Bay background but the one I made used Berry Burst, which again was the more popular choice – I guess you ladies like your pinks!! I also used my Stampin’ Blends to colour my rhinestones – it’s great now I can customise my rhinestones (and pearls) to suit my project!!

Dimensions:

  • Whisper White Card Base: 14.5cm x 21cm
  • Bermuda Bay / Berry Burst 14cm x 10cm
  • Whisper White 13.5cm x 9.5cm

Supplies:

Card 4 – Beautiful Peacock

This final card was the simplest of them all (just stamping!!) but gave me a few problems because I wasn’t being gentle enough. Anyway, I kept on going and created my favourite card of the evening (even if I did have to ’embellish’ an inky fingerprint!!) . I love these colours together (and Berry Burst made yet another appearance) and the simplicity of it. The stamp set I used is one of our Free Saleabration sets that you can earn with an order of £45. I think the images in this one lend themselves to so much more than peacocks so watch out for more projects with it.

Facebook Live 29th January

Well, what a night Monday turned out to be!! My internet signal kept going AWOL so our Facebook Live session ended up being in three parts!! Thanks to everyone who kept going with me. I’ve managed to splice all three bits together into one video now which you can watch below. We started with a little ‘Stamping 101’ to cover the basics of stamping before moving on to make these cards:

Stampin Up Live Cardmaking Tutorial

Remember that I broadcast every Monday night at 8pm GMT from my Facebook Page so make sure to ‘like’ and ‘follow’ me to get notified when I go live.

Card 1 – Painted with Love & Perennial Birthday

For this first card I wanted to show how just a little of our Designer Series Paper goes a long way. I love the patterns in the Painted Love DSP but think they’re a bit overpowering. But, by using just a small piece we were still able to make this very clean and simple looking card that allowed the pattern to shine without being too much. The bonus is that it really makes your paper go a long way. I think the gold sequin trim really adds a lovely finishing touch, picking up the gold in the paper. Plus, out came the fabulously versatile Perennial Birthday stamp set. This set looks very floral but you can see there’s not a flower in sight here!

  • Fresh Fig:  8cm x 8cmplus scrap
  • Painted with Love DSP: 7.5cm x 7.5cm

Supplies:

Card 2 – Painted With Love & Happy Wishes

Sticking with the Painted Love DSP I used a different layout. But this time the focal point was the Happy Wishes stamp set, which is one of our free Saleabration items. I love that you have lots of elements that you can combine in different ways to crate just the greeting you like. I also showed you how to get the ‘ombre’ effect on the main ‘Happy’ sentiment

  • Fresh Fig: 10cm x 6.5cm
  • Painted with Love DSP: 9.5cm x 6cm

Supplies:

Card 3 – Petal Palette & Washi Tape

For our third card I went back to a favourite – the Petal Palette stamp set. This time, I wanted to use one of the smaller images to create a background. Plus, I broke out the washi tape! This is one of those things that never seems to get an airing even though I love it – do you have things like that in your craft stash? Anyway, the sample card used Lemon Lime Twist but the one I made used Pool Party. I think I prefer the Pool Party one – what about you?

Supplies:

Card 4 – Picture Perfect Party Candles

For our final card, I used the wonderfully fun (if a bit of a tongue-twister) Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set. The little candles in this stamp set are so fun and I’d already done three samples in different colour schemes because I’d had so much fun playing with them!

This would make a lovely set of cards to give as a gift but also shows how you could easily make up a load of cards really quickly and easily. Just by varying the colours you get cards suitable for a range of people (kids, female and male). In the video, we made the one on the right of the picture using Night of Navy and Marina Mist and the gorgeous new corduroy ribbon. I just love the feel of this one – it’s so wonderfully soft!

If you’d like to know the colours used on the others, just drop me a line or leave a comment and I’ll list them out for you rather than making this post even longer than it already is! Which one is your favourite?

Thanks so much for stopping by. I’d love to hear what you think of the projects, so make sure to leave me a comment below  letting me know what you think, which one is your favourite or any questions you have.

Facebook Live 22nd January – Simple Cards, Handy Tips and a Prize Draw

After missing last week’s session because I fell asleep on the sofa (!!) we were back to normal this week. Last Saturday was the Crafty Open House to launch the new Spring Summer catalogue, which was great fun. So I thought I’d show the Make & Take projects for the day. I also talked about the Prize draw and Scavenger Hunts for chances to win lots of great prizes.

First of all, the Prize Draw! There are three prizes up for grabs:

1st Prize  – Oh Happy Day Complete Cardmaking  Kit

2nd Prize – Pun Intended Stamp Set

3rd Prize – Mixed Medallions Card Kit

There are a few ways to enter:

Place an order                                 5 entries

Sign up as a Demonstrator            10 entries

Take part in the Online Scavenger Hunt  1 entry for every correct answer

Then, there’s the Scavenger Hunt!!

We did one on Saturday and it was fiendishly difficult. (I’ll announce the answers and winners on 26th January) but the online one is much easier. It’s taking place on my Facebook Page and there are seven questions to answer. All you have to do is put your answer in the comments below each question. Every correct answer wins you an entry into the Prize Draw. But as well as that, the person with the most correct answers also wins a prize – which is the Tutti Frutti Card Kit (from the Saleabration catalogue). Note: Not the Tutti Frutti Sequins as I mentioned in the video!

Anyway, on to the cards. All of the dimensions and supplies for each one are listed below.

If you missed the broadcast, you can watch it again here:

Card 1 – Party Pandas

I just love these cute Pandas, which are just one of the free Saleabration items available with every £45 you spend. Plus, this card is a great way to use up those scraps of paper we all have. I’ve used another Saleabration item, which is the Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series paper. This fun design would make a perfect children’s card.

Card 2 – Birthday Wit

This second card uses a brilliant stamp set which has some great, quirky greetings. Make sure to watch the video for some tips on trimming your stamps to make them stamp better and give you more options for your sentiments! This a great card to put together quickly and would work as a masculine card or even one of those tricky ‘Young Person’ cards when they’re too big for a children’s one.

This stamp set is another of our free Saleabration gifts. It’s a new, innovative type of stamp that gives a photographic style image without having to do multiple stamping. I love images like this that can carry an entire card by themselves. With a different sentiment, this would also be a quick and easy Sympathy card. Plus, I show you how to re-ink your ink pads while making this one!

This final card was the favourite of the evening! I think the images in this stamp set gives you lots of options and the large sentiment is very versatile. It looks equally great as an edgy sentiment or when paired with the pretty florals on this card. The colour scheme too is so bright and fresh! Plus, I show you a neat trick with your blender pens to get the ‘watercolour’ effect.

2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop

Welcome to the 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop ! I’m so excited to be part of this fun collaboration with fellow demonstrators. This month’s theme is Occasions, as in our brand-new Occasions Catalog that just launched this month! I can’t wait to show you my project but I have to tell you I had a really hard time choosing which product to use (they’re all so gorgeous!!).

Kre8tors Blog Hop

Anyway, I finally settled on the beautiful Petal Palette suite. I think the images and fonts in the stamp set are gorgeous and the co-ordinating dies are also fabulous. Every time I look at it, I get another idea! This is fast becoming my favourite from the Spring Summer catalogue and is a definite contender for my Top Ten stamp sets. So, here is the project I want to share with you today…..

Petal Palette Thank You

For today’s card, though, I decided to keep it really simple, show off the cute bird image and let the sentiment shine.  You might even find this is one of the Make & Take projects at my Crafty Open House on 20th January 😉

So anyway, the card!  I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock (14cm x 10cm) and stamped the bird and the sentiment using Memento Ink.  Then, I coloured the bird in using our Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends (remember to leave a little time after stamping for the ink to dry fully before you start colouring) . I’m having lots of fun with these new markers – so much so that I’ve got a special Stampin’ Blends Club  running from January to help you build your supply and colouring skills (with a few freebies along the way!)

For the border, I simply took a black fineliner pen and drew it freehand around the edge. I find this is a great, easy way to add interest to your card while still keeping the look clean. The heart is die cut from a scrap of Calypso Coral cardstock using the new Apron Builder die set. Then, the whole thing is layered onto a Basic Black card base (14.5cm x 21cm scored and folded at 10.5cm)

For the inside, I stamped the bird and the border image in Smoky Slate onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock (14cm x 10cm)

After I made this one, I got a bit carried away and made a few more using different colours of our Stampin’ Blends and the ‘Thank You’ sentiment. I now I have a set of cute Thank You cards which I think I will give away as a prize in my Facebook Live broadcast on 22nd January.

For our final card, I got all artistic and used our new Brusho Inks. I’ve been having lots of fun playing with them and creating some fun backgrounds. This is definitely one for experimenting with and every card you make will be different. I used the sentiment from an unlikely set – Perennial Birthday. This set is very floral and girly but I thought the sentiment looked kind of funky and edgy when put against the vibrant background. It just goes to show how versatile your stamps can be!

4 Great Christmas Cards on Facebook Live 4th December

So another week rolled around and it was time for Facebook Live again! This week was all out Christmas Cards with 4 very festive cards. I shared a few techniques such as emboss resist as well as some tips on creating frames to show off our images. Two of the stamp sets featured (Carols of Christmas and Wise Men from Afar) are discounted in our Year End Sale, so make sure to check out what’s on sale with up to 30% off.

If you missed it, you can watch the video here and below are the details of all of the dimensions and supplies for each of the projects.

So, here are the cards – which is your favourite?

Stampin Up Christmas Cards

Card 1 – Emboss Resist Carols of Christmas

Our first card was super simple but creates a really stunning effect, I think. Using the Carols of Christmas stamp set I did a spot of the Emboss Resist technique. The first card uses Island Indigo and the second Tranquil Tide. You could use any colour for this and this is where our colour co-ordination really comes into it’s own as the ink and cardstock match together beautifully giving the card a beautiful ‘pulled together’ look. This would be a really easy one to mass produce.

Dimensions:

  • Card Base: Island Indigo / Tranquil Tide 14.5cm x 21cm
  • Watercolour Paper 10cm x 14cm

Supplies:

Card 2 – Wise Men Aperture Card

Next up was an aperture card with an easy to create scalloped frame that finished it off nicely. We used the Wise Men from Afar stamp set which is included in our Year End Sale. I rally like the main image in this set, as well as the sentiments which really reflect the meaning of Christmas to me. I love the simplicity and subtlety of this card, but think the aperture just adds an extra bit of interest without adding lots of preparation time (perfect for when you want to make lots of cards!).

Wise Men from Afar

Dimensions:

  • Card Base: Crumb Cake 14.5cm x 21cm
  • Very Vanilla: 10cm x 14cm
  • Early Espresso: Scrap approx. 10cm x 10cm

Supplies:

Card 3 – Embossed Wise Men

For our third card we stuck with the Wise Men from Afar stamp set but stepped things up a bit with some metallic accents and heat embossing. the first card was done using Copper and the second using Gold. I find that at Christmas time my heat gun is working overtime because I like to add that extra shine and opulence to my projects! I love that with the same stamp set and layout we created two completely different looking cards!

Dimensions:

Card Base: Very Vanilla 29cm x 10.5cm

Basic Black:  10cm x 14cm  plus scrap approx. 10cm x 10cm

Very Vanilla: 13.5cm x 9.5cm

Gold / Copper Foil scrap approx. 10cm x 10cm

Supplies:

Card 4 – Swirly Snowman

For this final card, we used the non-Christmas Swirly Scribbles die set to create a super cute snowman. Some creative use of some punches gave us our other elements. Plus, I showed you how to create the ‘snow’ in the background by ‘spritzing’ with our Whisper White ink. This guy it just adorable and as one viewer suggested, would look great with  googly eyes! You could use small rhinestones or even buttons too.

This die set also works for making cute Christmas wreaths and I showed a card I’d made with that too. (Maybe I’ll make it next week) It’s always great to find interesting ways to use our stash to make get more value out of it.

Swirly Scribbles Thinlits

Dimensions:

  • Card Base: Crumb Cake 14.5cm x 10.5cm
  • Scraps of Whisper White, Early Espresso, Basic Black & Tangerine Tango

Lots of Sponging – Facebook Live 27th November

I even broke out the embossing paste! I had 4 cards as usual but this time decided to ‘wing’ it and try out some ideas I had in my mind. I was a bit nervous about whether they’d turn out well or not, but was pleased with the results. I hope they inspired you
